If you are looking some or more money making without spending money the blog is the easiest, quickest and cheapest way. It doesn't require you to spend a single penny.
Genrally to make money online you may need a web presence, i.e. a domain with web pages, with content.
You may get a cheap domain and free or cheap hosting but for a blog like blogger.com you won't require both
i) you may use a free sub-domain provided by your chosen blog service provider. e.g.
yourdomainname.blogspot.com.
ii) They will also host your web pages.
iii) Importantly these blogs are designed to meet the best SEO (Search Engine Optimization) standards. So your blog will be indexed sooner than your own domain and hosting.

Making Money

i) So once you start getting traffic you may place banners from certain banner service providers. They pay per impression or pay per thousand impression basis.
ii) You may place Ad Blocks provided by Adsense or other Content specific PPC search engine.

Choosing a blog
Consider few things before you start writing a blog that i personally feel

i) The topic should be very natural to yourself. People just start as it looks more profitable. As its not of their interest as the blog defines, these kind of blogs usually get buried.

ii) The domain knowledge should be pretty enough to post at least once a week or twice.

iii) Don't copy or if so make sure it makes sense, even if you don't have good writing skills, like myself..lol. Go with your own wording and be natural. Search Engine love this. Remember afterall search engines are the source of traffic for your blog and so money.

iv) If you may write on different niche ideas then prioritize. One blog with less traffic can make you more money than other having more traffic. As Ads are content based. Few Ad types has higher cost than other.
